OakenGnome 'GhyllenTrove' 6" Art Doll Apprentice Swordsman OOAK Sculpt by Artist Ann Galvin

GhyllenTrove is an OakenGnome, Forest Defender and Woodlander from Friston Forest in Sussex England. The OakenGnomes are silent foragers, removing trip hazards and edible fungus from the forest floor. GhyllenTrove has been harvesting the toadstool crop at his feet, distilling the tonic in his three potion bottles. As a Forest Defender his main duty lies with protecting the Woodlands from any threat ~ carrying his fearsome sword. He is a silent deceptive Defender of the Realm ~ GhyllenTrove is fixed on a mossy base with toadstools and carries a potion bottle with two more across his chest. He is warmly dressed in knitted/crochet robes with a matching hat, these are not removable

GhyllenTrove the Apprentice Swordsman has been sculpted with Cosclay over a strong wire armature, he is gently poseable. He has handmade glass eyes and mohair hair and is a 'one of a kind' creation having been entirely handmade without the use of moulds here at my studio on the Sussex Coast. He is just six inches tall. GhyllenTrove carries three modelled clay potion bottles.

GhyllenTrove the OakenGnome Apprentice Swordsman will be accompanied by a photo authenticity certificate signed by the artist.

About the Artist:

The designer of this piece is a professional multi-media artist with thirty years experience. After studying Sculpture and Ceramics, she began her professional career as a freelance illustrator. She later returned to sculpture, modelling in clay, polymers and cold porcelain. She has exhibited widely at exhibitions and galleries and has been a member of many Sussex collectives.
